Fun Range anomaly

I've just done a journey of 60 miles. When I set off, the range on the car was 45 miles. It now shows 48 miles but I have not put any fuel in

You must have been driving in the city prior to your journey. The computer recalculates based on changes in your driving habbits (mainly average mpg). Either that or you have a miracle car that has begun to create petrol.
