the clear coat is starting to breakup and leaving patches on the roof and bonnet.Anything i can try to fix it apart from respraying'

I have the same problem with mine. I use a cutting compound then a colored polish to bring it back. It will last about 2 months depending on how much sun light it sees.
The real solution would be to have it painted.
