Hello all,
Ive just joined up after buying Paul_in_NZ's e34 535is. Whilst he has downgraded to the 120d, Ive upgraded from an e30 318is.
Paul and I have been friends since I came back to NZ in 2004, but I see Shogun is still going strong on the web (glad to see youre ok Erich) after we used to know each other on the 7seriesregister forums in the UK
Im taking the day off work tomorrow (dont work on my birthday) and I intend to give the Panzer a thorough clean with a couple of clay bars after it was given a thrashing in a grass gymkhana over the weekend and covered in dust.
Hopefully Ill have some nice photos of it in the near future and hopefully Ill be able to fix a few little things after having had a good read of the e34 threads. This is my 9th BMW but first e34 so I have a lot to learn.
Cheers
Martyn

Gone but not forgotten
I thought it was about time I updated this thread with what Ive been up to the last six months.
First a couple of photos just after collection and having given it a good clean.
The first mod was just a set of clear fronts and sides. I havent bothered with the rears as well as Im not sure what I think about them yet and I may just tint the lenses red as Ive done on previous cars.
Then it was time to have a crack at the alloys. It took a total of eight hours to do this but it was well worth the effort. They are BBS-RZ412's and you dont see many at all down here.
Lastly it was time to tackle the 4x4 look. I didnt want to slam the car, NZ roads are bad enough as it is, but I wanted to do this to both improved the handling a little (which it has done) and improve the aesthetics.
A set of Eiback Pro-kit came available and it was a done deal.
Its pretty much how I want it now on the outside. Ive been spending the last couple of weeks sanding, filling, priming and painting the bumper strips which has turned out really well and has made a massive difference to how the car looks. Unfortunately its raining today so I cant finish off the final coat. Ill have more photos of that later.
one set of outer door handle gaskets are on the way to NZ, Martyn
i like your work mate!
