Default Anyone have cover over heater/water valve?

Does anyone have cover over the heater/water valve and secondary water pump? They are located tthe rear of the engine compartment on the driver's side.

My etk indicated there is indeed a cover part 64 11 1 388 000 for teh US cars. I purchased it through my dealer. The packaging indicated 64 11 1 388 000, However the part they gave me is stamped 64 11 1 388 001.9. Is this a superseeded part number?

Even so, the part will not attach. It appears that it is to "snap on" the three cap nuts holding the heater/water valve in place. Will not. The nuts on my car look too small and short. Did I get the wrong part or do I need to replace the cap nuts?

I know this is a small matter, but it looks wrong to have the electrical wires and the heater/valve exposed. I suspect any of you pro mechanics have the answer to this one.

Little things like this irritate me.

    Thanks in advance

i don't believe that the five-two-five (aside from the european models) came with heater control valve covers.

i am not aware of how it is supposed to connect......i would just get extentions for the castle nuts until the cover fits on, as i don't think either number was really intended for the 25 cars.

    Default Thanks- However

I specifically inputed 1995 525i in my etk and it stated this part was for my car. So did the dealer. I now suspect it is not installed on the US 525is, Perhaps the 530 or 540i. Not sure why.

    Thanks again.

i did a poll about this on the old board because i wanted to add one too....only gentleman with a 525i that had one was on a UK-english model. if its just a matter of extending the nuts, i think i might get one from the junker and put it on.

    Default Thanks-Ryan. More

Let me know how it works out. I will check with the dealer for different nuts. If no help, then to the hardware store for either different nuts/washers or some way of extending the nuts.
