Default OT: Nomination for most stupid design

I nominate Mr Hyundai. He thought it was a good idea to put the front brake discs inboard of the front hub. Which means you have to remove the hub and ruin a perfectly good bearing to get the damn thing off. Only took him about 5years to realise this wasnt a good design so there are plenty about. Nice one Mr H. Glad I did a bit of research before reaching for the big hammer

that is maybe copied from the vintage 2CV, my Citroen 2 CV has that too, and there are more 'funny' things on an 2CV

The 2CV also pioneered the use of the now common Wasted spark Ignition System, also known as the DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) ignition using a double ended coil fired on each revolution, (on the exhaust and compression stroke), by just a contact breaker.

    2CV - adventures in motoring!

Zero to 60 in 32.8 seconds.

I once hitched a ride in a 2CV that had seats that were like lawn chairs - tubular frames with nylon webbing.

And the umbrella gear change lever . . . engineering born of the need for economy - fairly clever, for the time, really.
