Did the front but have heard (do a forum search) that the rear can be a "fun" job requiring special tools.
I've got a bad wheel bearing on the right rear of my 740.....has anyone ever replaced these? I haven't got a good chance to look at it yet, but wondering how difficult this would be to replace and what's involved.
Any help would be appreciated.

There's a writeup in the E34 DIY section on the 'other' forum complete with pics. Special tools are the trick. It may be pretty close as far as your 740i.

Excellent write up....looks like a fun job....but just to get the tools to do this would cost me more than having a good indy do the job....
I'm in Manteca, CA......central valley just south of Stockton.....I've used Automeister in the past for a few things a few years back on my 530.....think it's time to give them a ring......unles anyone knows of a better shop in my area.......Ughhh!
