Default Semi OT: Rim size combatibility question for my Honda CRV.

I'd like to get a winter wheel set-up for the 2002 CRV and found a dude selling cheap steel rims locally that were fit to a 1995 Nissan Maxima. Of course, I'd love to take four off his hands for less than his $80 asking price, but need a second or third opinion on fitment.

    2002 Honda CRV:

14x6, 5x114.3 with an offset of 55 and bore diameter of 64.1

1995 Maxima (from the following website)

14x6, 5x114.3 with an offset of H and bore diameter of 66.1

    Questions:
    1) I'm unsure of the Maxima offset value. Both the CRV and Maxima given an "H" for high on the website and I'd like to think they'll be interchangable. Am I out to lunch?

    2) I have no experience with hubcentric rings. a) Do I need them for the 2mm diffrence. Will I find them easily?

    Thanks for reading.

The bore difference will probably need rings. I don't use rings, so I don't know what else to tell you, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

You will need rings. Need them to run E39 stuff on E34, E32, E38, etc. and that's a 74.1mm vs. a 72.56mm difference which is less than the 2mm difference you're looking at.

A quick search yieolded the following from prestigewheel.com

    66.06mm to 63.90mm

    OR

    66.06mm to 64.15mm

As they are measured to an extra decimal place, I'm unsure which is the proper size (again, I have no experience with rings). Common sense would have me buying the 64.15 to ensure fitment over the CRV hub, but I may as well ask the question

Double check the offset. I think the H refers to the bead flange and not the offset which would be given as numerals.

Ross, from what I've read, some aftermarket manufacturers choose to label their rims with H, M, L. I've seen H (high) offset described as 35+.

I just did some searching and it seems there is little concrete info regarding Nisssans ETs. I think I'll just go throw one on the CRV this weekend and have alook. Who knows, these may not even be OEM Nissan ET rims.
