    Default Like father, like son....

After 2 months of negotiation, my #2 son finally bought an E39. 12/99, MSport, 528iA, M52TU, 104,000 km (65,000 miles).

Immaculate, 2 owner, black interior. Has since changed the plates to black on white - much nicer.

He's a good boy, a chip off the ol' block

I've been keeping an eye on the E39 M5 prices, $45k is getting good and a couple have replacement engines. What is it with that?

Nearly bought a set of the M sport wheels off eBay, they went for $370 with tyres (bargain!)

    How are you Greg ?

I have also been looking at E39 M5 cars, but can't get my head around the V8 engine - if only they had a 6.

Might buy a 530i(?T) soon to replace my old 525i. I am seriously impressed with my E39 528iT. Brilliant all round.

    Time will tell......

    Default Father and son

Nothing better than a father and son wrenching together. Talk about memories.

We (together with No 1 son) did the head gasket on the '88 525i about 4 years ago - hopefully they will look back fondly....

That is a great looking car, no doubt he'll get years of enjoyment out of that. I must admit I have been looking around at post 2000 525's for a while now, though I don't think I could ever sell the E34... (not happily, anyway)

Who needs a sway bar anyway?
