Default 325is race car project is started

Coming from E34s, I quickly realised that they are slightly too heavy for the track (even Mosport), so it was time to build a dedicated track car.

I picked up a slighly rusted '92 non vanos 325is for little money then installed a complete M3 suspension in 3 hours. I have yet to install the M3 sway bars. What a difference....

Next I will change the control arms with the bushings and maybe the steering rack for an M3 one. The rear end will be completely dissassembled and all the bushings will be replaced with urethane or solid bushings.
After selling my 535i rims and track tires, I will buy two sets of 17" rims, one for the street and one for the track.

The 535i black and blue 525i are for sale

Guess which ones are the M3 with H&Rs...

Next: M3 front brakes with M3 spindles and M3 control arms

How much does that weigh, around 3k pounds? Are you going to do anything with the engine, performance wise?

    Custom Turbocharged 1991 535iM - 135k mi.

Chassis this year and an EAT performance chip. I will also do the front M3 brakes (bought already).

NExt year I am planning to see if I can pack some decent HP into the 2.5 without being outside of the legal boundries of BMW club racing.
Worse case I will jump one class and install a 2.8 block, but I need to produce the same HP or more than a 328is...

Bruno, Since upgrading the brakes to M3 will bounce you to JP, I would suggest going to the Brembo kit. Just a suggestion.

Very nice. Welcome to the E36 club. Tim might not admit this, but he actually loves driving my car Good luck with the car, and let me know if you need any parts. I have a ton of E36 stuff for sale.

And I contacted Tim to purchase your M3 suspension and I am still waiting for an answer... He never got back to me...

What kind of parts do you have for sale, I am actually in need of a lot of M3 parts, the rest will be racing parts.

Well Tim never told me about that one. I sold the coilovers a month ago and the sways went on Saturday. My list of parts however is quite extensive. I actually posted a thread on this board too. Here. Let me know if anything on there catches your eye.
