You should have two levered c-clamps that fit to the back of the glovebox. They clamp onto the horizontal bar. If you're still stumped tomorrow, I'll pull the glovebox off a car and post pictures.
So...I changed my heater core...last year, and I just got around to putting the dash back together. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to put the glove box back in.
I figured out the front end with the straps, but I can't figure out the back. The bar in the back goes horizontal, and there are threads on either end. What goes on the threads? Also, the U-shaped parts on the back of the box go the opposite direction from the horizontal bar.
I am stumped. Should have done this last year when it was fresh in my head.
Thanks.
Mark

The two #6 clamps slide onto the rod with the lock loose. Press the plastic lever to lock the clamp.

I actually think I have them. I will have to look through my parts bin in the morning. Makes sense. There seems to be a circular mark on the U-shaped ends. I was looking at #25 on real OEM, but now that I am looking at #6, my memory is coming back.
I am the king of unfinished projects.
Thanks guys.
the threading as far as i know is to confuse you. The easiest way for me is to latch it closed, then push the rear up, latch on the #6 (x2) onto the metal rods.
you may have to adjust the #6's a few times in order to get the glovebox to open straight.
