    Default 95 540 carpet question

    Hi,

I just put a carpet from a 95 540 into my 90 525. There is an extra rectangular opening (small) in the rear right passenger footwell. Is there a cover for that?

    Thanks,

    Mark

probably for rear floor heating, might not be available on the 525.

The one in front of the battery, fitting vertially to the rear seat support? THat has a bolt going through it to secure something, I never saw checked what, seemed kinda odd but I was busy t the time so can't say. To remove the carpet it has to come out- and it is a little recessed box thing; consisting of the box, a cover and a bolt.

Yep. Apparently, it's a cover for the ground strap. M20 cars have the battery in the front. This will come in handy when I drop an S52 in

It's an access panel so the battery cut-off switch used during transit from the factory to the dealership can pass into the interior. The Hella cutoff switch is used to disconnect the battery during storage and is removed at PDI and the cover is installed at that time.
