on my website, go to lots of DIY links, there is the link to Gale.
Also I have a write up by Ross how to use a MB blower motor.
My heater (blower) decided to randomly quit on me. I have checked fuses and checked if there was power going to the blower and it all checked right...I assume it is the blower motor itself...has anyone had first hand experience on changing this and how hard it is to do? (I'm going to replace the motor with a used one from a parts car).... any tricks to the trade would be much appreciated thanks

had an issue with the blower stop on me as well, fuse 19 blown- short. So i removed some components in the hvac box. I think people refer to the resistor pack as the "sword", so i unplugged that and the control modules, total of 5 conentors. Starting reconneting and checking to see if new fuse blows- never did, blower motor working fine....
The 1989 E34 still has a sword, then it changed to resistor pack on E34, but all E32 have sword only. Actually 2 different ones, Behr or Siemens.
Behr is is used in most cars, the Siemens is smaller but wider, very rare outside Europe.
Not sure, but I assume all IHKA have a Behr, and IHR etc. have Siemens.
Changed my blower motor out in about an hour thanks for the tips.....i also found a furry friend that killed my blower motor....the mouse electrocuted itself and was stiff as a board haha
