I just got a new one and it hooks in on the car but it doesn't stay it. It goes in fine amd I can open it but when I try to close it it comes out. Am I forgetting something?

did you replace the C shaped spring?

The C shaped clip lasts forever. I assume you did not clip it in completely.

After market fuel hinges sometimes do not fit perfect, they do not clip into the bracket on the body 100%. Use a small file to fix the bracket if necesssary.

Or you inserted the C-clip the wrong way.
