    Default Help-Expansion tank for Nissens

The expansion tank on my 1992 525i M50 engine, manual has apparently warped or expanded and the rad cap will not seal properly, leading to coolant loss, etc. I bought a new replacement but it does not fit. The corners are more rounded than the fitted groove in the radiator.

Is the Nissens radiator different in that mounting than oe? And is there a separate expansion tank available for the Nissens?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Did you buy a new rad cap or expansion tank (not sure from your post)? How old is this rad? If you're trying to remedy a bad expansion tank on an old rad, I'd recommend a new rad. BMA sells both the Behr and the Nissens for a good price. i've had a Nissens in my 91 since 2003 with no trouble.

    Default expansion tank

I had already replaced the cap, but the expansion tank was "warped" or the threads enlarged, so that I could not tighten the cap sufficiently to keep the system pressurized and the coolant from leaking.

I's just replace the radiator. I think it was about $160 shipped on eBay.
