Playing around with the camera this afternoon, I think I caught the essence of Cosmos Schwarz Metallic paint. When they came up with this color, someone had to be doing something they shouldn't.
It's very pretty in the sun, blues, reds, golds and silver all draped across the black background. It sure looks like "the cosmos" when you get a little closer.
Upon close inspection with a magnifier in the sun, it's beautiful.
Zoom in on the sunlit part at the top of the photo, that's what happens when the light of the sun hits it, it just explodes into color!
Just wanted to share this with you guys.
Enjoy!

Jeff, you're so observant. It was just about a year ago, and I thought I'd never own another E34....until....about 2 months after the "Teri Hatcher" of M5's drove down the road this M540i Sport popped up. Sure, it wasn't the caliber the M5 was, but it was clean, very clean, and had been owned by enthusiasts that catered to her every whim.
I rolled Aubrey out of bed on a Saturday morning and said, "Get up, we gotta go to St. Louis and buy a car."
It needed little attention, the price was right, but most of all it filled that void that was left by owning the particuliar M5. Albeit a bit more rare in production numbers, the M540i Sport carried the badge of the M plus some. The V-8 Nik idles so smooth you can't tell it's running, power is close, not as explosive, it's more lineal. You still shift out of 3rd at 100mph, with 3 more gears to go and a 155 mph factory limiter. I have to say the best part is the suspension. The Nuremburg EDC III, makes the stance at least an 1 1/2" lower than the '91 M5 and the ride is unbelieveably smooth. BMW took a regular 540i Sport model and added an $8500 package to it in limited numbers to sing the swan song of the E34 M5.
The king is dead, long live the king...
