Default Thermostat housing won't clear fuel rail.

Thermostat housing won't clear fuel rail.

Broken bolt in housing from attempt to replace thermostat. Need to remove to drill out or replace the housing. Fuel rail blocks removal of housing. OK to loosen rail bolts enough to clear?

I don't see how the fuel rail is anywhere close to the t-housing. This is from a VANOS engine. But the t-housing should be at the same location.

Got a tip. Take out one of the studs for the housing. Rotate the housing a bit and it's off.
Double nuts on the stud might work. Stud puller tool maybe. Presoak with PB Blaster.

Maybe replace cover bolts with Stainless and use antisieze.
