Its best that you research the compatibility of 'universal' O2s for your honda (what do you have?). While I have successfully been using a spliced universal Bosch O2 on my e34, I will not use a universal on my wifes 2002 CRV. From CRV forums, its almost unamimous that universals don't provide proper feedback and alleviete your poor mileage. I don't recall whether a iniversal will turn off the CEL, but thats beside the point. There are many retailers of universals for honda out there, so make sure it will fix the problem before wasting you $$
