OT: drove the new Volkswagen Jetta TDI
what a ride!!! 0-60 in 9 sec. flat. and torquey as hell.
extremely quite, and the best part... 52 MPG HWY!!!!

Skip, have you driven a <2K4 TDI before? i.e. how does it compare to earlier models? I'm pretty happy with my 2K1 Jetta TDI, just getting broken in with 110,000kms on her.The extra 10 horses (90 up to 100) sound like it also comes with a few more foot-poundies! Cool...
Enjoy the ride! The 52mpg will make up for the Bimmer!

Can u increase the boost on these things... I kno the big diesel pick up trucks get huge HP gains w/ minor bolt-ons... aren't turbo's great? :-D

it's sorta like the nozzle on a jet exhaust changes the speed of the gas flow, the vanes in the turbine housing change the flow of gases to the tubine, it lets you have a big turbo without the bottom end lag by being able to spool it up quickly without overreving it at higher rpms. it's the vanos of turbos in other words
