Question about rebuilt ebay fuel injectors

Are they any good? They seem significantly cheaper than new items, typically usd$200+ for 6 injectors. I will replace mine because I want to decrease the fuel consumption and I have reaplaced almost everything else, meaning, rotor + cap, spark plugs etc...

I installed them in my M50, didn't have a chance to test fuel economy or increased performance but they sure do make alot of noise compared to the stock ones, sounds almost like a M30

While I can't comment on that exact model, i have a set of bosch ford 'takeoffs' on my car. Could be these same units, would need to x-reference to the flow to be sure.

The ford units flow slightly more (a few % points) than the factory units but it's well within the ECUs ability to compensate. You would run a bit richer on WOT.

I don't think you'll save any fuel by swapping to these. The car may run a bit smoother due better atomization but that's about it.

A better plan might be to have your current injectors rebuilt. Wouldn't be much if any more once you factor in shipping.

thanks for everyone's comments. I replaced the O2 sensor about 1.5 years ago, but I didn't notice any change in the fuel economy.

I'd go with them for injectors over some eBay ones.

Okay besides checking fuel pressure sounds like injectors might be the next plan. I know someone that had their injectors cleaned and they sucked. Luck of the draw and they still ended up with the 5.0motosport ones, just a little lighter in the wallet.

okay, i bought some fuel injector off usa ebay. I can't recall the exact model number now, they are from a ford mustang 5L, I got 8 but two of the pintle caps were broken off in delivery, and installing them on the car, a pintle cap broke off, well the top half did but i installed it anyway as i don't have any other choice.

here is what they look like;



yeah they are skinny compared to the stock items, the o-rings are the same heiight and they installed fine i guess. ...... welll no fuel leaks after i installed them....so thats good.

the idle is awesome now, smooth and not "hunting". i installed them to lower the fuel consumption, only time will tell if they are worthwhile.

they are not noiser like others suggested, they are the same dbl level.

it took me 3 hours to remove the old ones and install the new ones. the bently manual covers the procedure well and there's not much to remove to get to them on the m30. maybe there are 5 or 6 steps but its a first time for myself and i don't want to muck anything up.

the fuel injector clip that work on the stock m30 injectors did not fit on the new injectors and i didn't use them either, but i hope the wire harnessing secures them fine.

i took off the negative lead off the battery for 15 minutes to reset the computer / ECU. i guess i have to drive to a while to see if the fuel consumption has decreased.

Just make sure you drive like you normally would otherwise your going to have biased readings. I would suggest a full tank with these injectors to re-map the ecu and then another full tank to get a fuel consumption reading.
