The impact wrench seems like a good idea, I think that the vibrations just might loosen the nut.. I´ve got access to one @ work.

weird honestly. i never had trouble taking off my wheel. sometimes it did seem stuck, but with a long lever it was always easy to pop it out without doing and damage....
next time don't overtighten it...
Impact wrench did the job!

I also had little bit of trouble trying to get the nut off. Lucky I saw this post. I just changed my steering wheel and the impact wrench worked like a charm!
