I have an '89 climate control. I know there are different one for the newer E34s. Is it possible to retrofit a new one in an older car?

You mean colored button to black button, correct?

as opposed to manual v automatic 3 dial systems?


I think only the buttons are different between them, but It is an interesting question idont have a concrete answer to. At one point I wanted to backdate mine.

I have dual climate control, i notcied in innerworkings and connections of a 93 model e34 are totally different but looks the same in the front, 3 dials, 3 sliders, and 3 buttons: ac/ recir. air, defroster-rear.
