I have 2 88 325i one stick one auto i think i would like to take the stick out off the blue 88 and put it into the black one because of the black ones condition is way better. NOw what im wondering is how hard would this be for me to do in my driveway. and also would it cause any problems witht he cars? and if anyone has any information on where i could get a manual or if there is any websites that tell me how to do it with pictures and stuff and also where i can get the torque tollerances from

Well, I did a swap from automatic to 5 speed on a E30, and it isn't too bad of a job, you need to pull everything from the flywheel to the driveshaft on the 5 speed and remove all the automatic stuff and install the 5 speed stuff.

It takes a lot of time and you better have a nice collection of tools and some friend to give you a hand to pull the trannies out. If you are a good shadetree mechanic, all should be good.
