Swaps info?

I've got a 95 525i automatic and was looking into getting a new car but things just aren't selling lately, so I think I'll keep my current car and just do work to it. SO from what I understand, the s50 is a direct swap, correct? I'd also like to swap an m3 5 speed if possible. I've searched but it's so hard to find worthwhile information, so any help is greatly appreciated.
