5-speed automatic shifting?

When driving my 94 530iA in S (sport) mode the dash light will indicate gear you are holding, such as S4...when the shifter is moved to the E (economy) D postion, the transmission will shift to a higher gear...then you feel another upshift, like overdrive gear.
The question is, if I am holding it in 4th & it upshifts once, that would be 5th. What is the overdrive type shift? It's a 5 speed automatic, plus overdrive?
