M60 water pump woes (rant and long)

They appear to have brought that feature back on the E39 as both of mine have them... perhaps that hose thing proved less effective?

Yesterday afternoon I took the car our for a drive, actually back to the Chinese restaurant that I drove to Friday night when it overheated. Temp gauge stayed at the half way mark the whole time, no low coolant, no overheating.

Took it out again later on with no problems. Kept checking the coolant level throughout the day and the reservoir stayed full.

Just checked it this morning and the level is down slightly from the "engine cold" mark on the tank, though not enough to have the low coolant light come on, guess I'll let it go for the moment and see if it continues to drop.

I really hope I can put an end to this project.
