    Default rad replacement

    Hey Guys,

I am trying to get my blown rad out and I have an external tranny cooler, do I have to disconnect the tranny lines from the cooler to get it out. I can't seem to access the two lower cooler bolts. Any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Edward

What year and model? When you say external tranny cooler, do you mean separate from the radiator? No need to disconnect tranny lines if separate. The radiator are held down by two plastic clips on top and depending how careful you remove them are reuseable, but I would have replacement on hand.

on mine the cooler is screwed to the radiator. So it must be disconnected first unless you can lift the radiator from its mounts and tilt it rearward. I just removed the fan blade and not the clutch.
I only remember one bolt holding the cooler lines but be careful when putting it back on I ruined the cooler because the lines weren't seated and I hastily cranked the bolt down mushrooming the ends.
the 525/530 share the same style. 540 is different.
