For the oil leak to be fixed on my 95 525iT
They stated:
Front timing chain cover gasket
Oil pan gasket
Vanos Oil hose
Total $1,500.00
Does this sound right...also what is the Vanos Oil hose? I can't find that anywhere?

"Speed is the product of doing everything right"
is it leaking bad enough to justify that kind of expense? My car leaks oil from the front cover too, i just live with it.
Get everything clean and check carefully for the source of the leak before taking this shotgun approach. It may be only the seal on the banjo bolt for the vanos line or even just require some careful tightening.
I doubt whoever quoted $1500 took the time to properly find the source of the leak.

Thanks for the info!
