    Default Changing Speakers

Was rummaging in the cupboards last night, and discovered an old box full of the 4 sony 13cm speakers out of the peugeot before it was scrapped. Decided to fit them into the car...

It appears that 13 or 14 cm speakers will fit.

The following isnt meant to sound condescending in any way - it may be badly written due to my tiredness levels! Will correct things in the morning!

    Rear Speakers

    1) Remove rear seat base
    2) Remove headrests - these pop straight out the top, turn the locking tabs and the bases will pop right out the top of the rear seat.
    3) Remove the seat back - there's four bolts to get to here - the outer two are under the very edges of the seat - plastic nuts that hold the seat base down. The inner two are accessed by dropping the centre armrest and reaching through - dont get confused by the armrest mounting bolts - you dont need to detatch them. Once the bolts are out, pull the base of the seat back outwards and lift the back upwards.
    (Bolt photos pending)

The car should now be looking like a bombsite inside!

    4) You cant get the speakers in or out with the parcel shelf present, so that has to go as well... it's held in place with four plastic clips, located as shown below:
    (Scuse the phone cam quality!)

Grab the shelf and yank it forwards, it'll pop out of its tracks and you can remove it from the car.

You now have a complete disaster zone:

    5) Now comes the tricky part...

The four screws are a swine to get out... the one in the top of the image has very little access and you have to get a driver bit and use a pair of pliers to turn it out.
I'll be back under there shortly to add tweeters into the pockets, there's plenty of space for them on these shelves.

Once out, you can see that they've put quite deep bins in the back for the speakers:

Swap your speakers out and put everything back together!

    Front Speakers
The front speaker panels have two or three locking pins in them...

Turn them 90 degrees, get your fingers under the bottom of the plastic and pull it outwards - the front edge of the plastic is hooked under the edge of the door seal. Once the front edge of it pops out, pull it towards the back of the car and it pops out the hooks at the front. The drivers side has two locking pins and you have to remove the bonnet lever to get the panel out, the passenger side just has three locking pins.

The speakers are screwed into the back of the kick panels, you'll need a small torx driver.

I did a similar thing recently, except i had to built my own little trays for the back as i put in smaller speakers (as i also put in 2 subs under the back tray ).
