Yes - it will fit any E34 V8 car - 530iA's included. In fact, this is the same tranny you have in your 530iA right now.

I know it will physically mount onto a 4.0 V8 but I don't know if it is the "correct" tranny for that motor.

And, again, this tranny was recently rebuilt by an authorized factory rebuilder - it is a smoothly functioning piece of equipment. The previous owner of my car is a member here and can speak to this, as it was done under his ownership.
