Nice! A little too blue for my taste, but it's all good.

Default Noob here! Introducing myself and my car.

    Hi all!

I just bought my 1992 BMW 525i manual with 190 000km (118 000miles) on Friday. Car is in MINT condition with full service history. Car has electric sunroof and rear blind. I'm loving it!!

Some issues that I see has been described here are:

    * Back lighting for OBC is dead
    * Head liner is coming off the ceiling over the back seats and also on the sunroof. How difficult / costly is it to have this replaced or repaired?
    * The clips where you clip in the seatbelts (black thingies with red release buttons) for both front seats are in bad shape. Especially the driver side. How difficult is it to replace these?

Other than the above issues, the car drives like new.

    Here she is:

Very nice, as for your woes.
1.) The obc might need to be replaced.
2.) You can re-do the headliner yourself, it's rather easy. Here is my headliner I re-did: http://www.bimmernut.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36857
3.) It's just 1 bolt that hold's them down, but you need to remove the seat to get to it, the seat is held on from 2 bolts in the back and then a lot of wiggling to get the seat out, however you need special socket to get them out without stripping the bolts.

You don't need to replace the OBC but the light bulbs in it. There are three slots for them: right, left, and bottom or was it top ? I did that when I got it. You only need pull it out and replace the bulbs. However pulling it out requires removing the stereo head unit, and pulling the ventilation controls out first.

The procedure is very well documented on bmwe34.net (link here)

Do my eyes deceive me or do I see a two tone paint job*?

No not two tone, but crappy lighting / pics. We are having unpredictable weather at the moment, will have the car washed and take some more pics when we have sunny skies for a while.

To remove the OBC on a RHD car, you don't need to remove the stereo head unit. There is a lever that sticks out the top left side if the OBC mounting assembly. If you open the glovebox and put your finger over the top of the trimming to the left of the OBC you can feel around for a small lever. When you find it, pull it towards the rear of the car and your OBC should pop out of the dash.
