You have the correct gasket made of strands of wires hard packed into shape. That shiny lump of donut is it. But like you I can't remember how many. I'll search the pictures I took to see if I can find it.
Guys-- I am having a difficult time determining what gaskets are necessary for connecting the exhaust manifolds to the cats. Realoem.com states I need four gaskets, all the same. ....part #3

I can only see one of these gaskets per side working. One of the pipes seems to either need a smaller gasket, or maybe no gasket at all?
Usually I would have a better memory given I did remove the exhaust.... but that was more then a year ago.
Thanks guys

interesting... so nobody here has taken off a 540 exhaust before and has an idea what gaskets are used?
I just removed the exhaust from a 530. Four donuts all the same from what I could tell.
