Using them on my car too. Nice seller and he makes them in his own small factory.

+1 works good. Put a slight dent in the surround because it's pressure fit, but works good. It's either this or the 'ultimate cupholder' that goes on the side.

These are nice. Ive had one for years, the foam for the passenger side fell off the first day but it doesn't affect anything.

Does he make any for the E30?

Foam fell off? Actually you can glue in foam (self adhesive) so that sizes fit. The bottles here in Japan are a bit smaller in diameter. So I just bought some self adehesive foam for window sealing to get the right size.

Don't know that he makes some for E30, he owns / owned an E34 and a E32 735, that is why he made them.

Maybe you find here a good one for the E30

I'd rather have my ASC than that cup-holder, not that I have any choice now. Looks decent but I'm using the accessory option one from BMW but mounted it on the phone compartment (no phone) over the hand-brake lever (still works fine).

what was that? I've never seen it?

also, does the original one mentioned in the thread interfere with 5th gear on 5 sp e34s?

(and i'd also like to use this opportunity to mention how much I hated the HVAC controls on my old e32)

    This is the BMW part:

The image URL could contain the part number: 82111468721. With minor mods, turning it around 180º, and some rubber trim attached, it fits on the center console compartment (phone mount location) and hangs over the handbrake lever. I use it for my cell when I'm not packing a drink.

If it is the same one that Bav auto sells, I would not get it for spirited driving. I had a cup of starbuxx in the car and took a turn and the thing slipped off spilling my coffie all over the passanger seat and floor.

They don't really hold anything for ANY driving. Even a fairly light turn can knock the thing over, especially if the drink is tall. They came with my car but unless you find a way to actually mount them so they won't move (I think someone on the board screwed it into the center console) they're not so great. And yes, wider drinks don't work either...
