Tire Flat Spotting: How Bad Is It?
Looking into new tires. All Season. Working with stock figures: 225/60 R 15.
New rims really aren't an option right now...plus I kind of like keeping the car stock...
Interested in two that TireRack recommends:
1) Continental ContiExtreme Contacts = $80 ea.
2) Kumho Ecsta ASX = $58 ea.
Both stack up comparable, Conti's maybe a bit better. Good reviews.
But...Several owners say they both tend to "Flat Spot" when they sit. Usually causing vibrations when you first drive again, until they warm up and round out.
Has anyone experienced this?
How bad is it?
Are we talking a subtle vibration or something seriously annoying?

really nice tire! had to use them at the track (lol i know) and they worked great! nice in wet, comfortable, good response.

My E39 has the Contis, I haven't noticed this. They suck in snow.
I was pleased with the G009s on my old touring. For better winter traction the Nokian WRs on my '89 are great.

My Land Rover Disco II has I think Continentals on it, or maybe Goodyear, either way theyre 255/55/18 on all four and sometimes depending on how warm it is over night I will drive about 1/2 mile with a vibration and it goes away completely thereafter.
