Default opinions needed, 540 for s430?

hey everyone. i've got a 2000 bmw 540i 6spd with dinan mods. the outside needs some body work, the engine needs coil packs, and it has 188k miles. saharra beige/ tan.

    i'm considering trading for:

2000 mercedes-benz s430 black/tan with 60k miles. it has been wrecked and needs a hood, bumper cover and headlamp.

both in perfect shape, the benz has a greater net worth. should I give up my bmw for a much nicer s430? (considering i fix it) all the body work i would do myself.

Interesting proposition. The 5er sounds tired. Fix the MB, sell it and buy a fresher 540.

Agreed. As much as I love the 220 chassis, these cars with their air suspensions and all their 'technology' really get me questioning how they're going to age. Like most of these ultra expensive executive sedans, I would predict that it could definitely be a very expensive proposition.

I'd pick it up, and get it presentable and get out of it, and turn a profit!

    "Reckon"?
    Aren't you an Ozzie?

    :P

Anyways, I vote 540i. I don't like that year S class, the one before it is sweet though.

thanks for the opinions. i'm thinking about it. my first thought was take all the dinan stuff off of my car, trade it off, fix the benz then sell it off, buy a '03 540 and then install all my dinan mods
