Default Is my Vibration Damper shot?

    M60 engine....

I have very pronounced engine shake/vibration at several spots in my RPM range. This is apparent in PARK and when driving....It becomes more pronounced when driving, especially in the higher gears at lower speeds where the engine is working harder.

My local mechanics (small town) have disconnected the drive belt, checked the fuel and ignition systems all to no avail and the motor mounts have been replaced.

They think it is the Vibration Damper....Has anyone have experienced this and if it is the damper where can I get one for less than $700.

Is there a way to test the damper???

    Cheers,

    Kurt

I am showing you the engine on the stand but removing the damper is not too bad in car. You need to remove the fan blade and water pump pulley. After that remove the bolts on the damer around the crank shaft.
