Default Aluminum M52 with no water pump + driving = bad

So my friend had this aluminum M52 that was driven with a broken water pump shaft until "the motor shut off and would not turn back over". My friend didn't ruin the motor, some guy did.

So, naturally, he didn't want it so I took it - I intend to turn the aluminum block which is fairly light, into a chrome powdercoated block with a sheet glas top for a coffee table. I am going to try to use the pistons as the legs of the table - we'll see.

Anyway here are some disassembly pictures I took

However, the crank is in nice shape:

I will keep it for a rainy day M50 stroker build.

You can see the wrist pin over heated badly. The piston is perfectly clean - it steam cleaned itself, but is black because it has also been over heated. The rods look straight but I would not trust them. The #6 piston came out of the block with only 2 piston rings (bottom ring was...gone). Block is probably warped to hell but is somewhat more rare than your average M52 as its fully aluminum from a Z3. So, hope you guys enjoyed!

how exactly would you go about using a non-V engine as a coffee table? usually you need 2 banks of cylinders to hold up the glass top.

It's a race to the finish, making a similar table from the spare 29,458 m20's left over from the stroker build.

lol - take block. put 4 legs on it. put a glass top on it.

    block being vertical...

the cool thing about a v - engine block coffee table is that you can extend 4 pistons out and use them to support to table top, instead of having it rest on the block. that's what give it the cool look. I'm guessing you have never seen this before?

i just don't see how you could achieve that cool of a look with an inline engine.
