The kickdown switch has no connection to the DME. DME uses the WOT switch on the TPS to activate the 'stomp test'.

If you remove the kickdown switch (like for a manual trans swap), you should replace it with 35-41-1-159-345 so that the pedal has something to stop it at WOT instead of possibly damaging the throttle body and/or TPS by trying to force them beyond they're designed range of motion.
