    Default Pic of mounting location of factory car jack?

    Can anyone post a picture of the factory mounting location of the BMW car jack? I cant seem to get mine to fit correctly and was wondering if I am mounting it wrong or if I am missing hardware. Thanks

    I don't have a pic at the moment but i had trouble figuring it out at first... Assuming you've removed the 'carpety' (if there is such a word i'd be surprised) side panel you will see a bolt sticking out with a sort of butterfly nut on the end of it. If you close the jack fully and look at the curved end you will see a hole in it...

    You need to insert the thin end of the jack way back into the boot in such a way that the bolt with the butterfly nut on it can go through the hole in the bottom end of the jack. (The winding arm will be above the main arm of the jack...)

    Wow this is hard to explain without a picture... I'll try and get one on tomorrow

    might i interject that the wrench that comes with the car to remove the lug nuts is next to useless.

    only if they are properly torqued... :P

    at 45ftlbs (all i could manage out of the dang thing when I tightened some and then checked em with the torque wrench) it can remove them ok.

    there is a liitle block of fabric glued to the side of the panel at the position of the winding handle!
