On a lathe, maybe. What are you trying to accomplish? If it'll help, we can probably tell you not to bother!![]()
i know the hub on the e34 is smaller then the e39, so swapping e39 wheels to the e34 if fine but not the other way around...
im told the stud pattern is the same on both, and im only out by a few mm...possible to shave a little of the inner of the alloy wheel? im only 1.5 mm out apparently

if on a e38.. (7 series)... no need to do anything.. same hub
if e39 (5 series).. you should bring to a machine shop to do correctly

all e28, e34, e36, e46, e32, e38 have same hub.. offsets.. well, that's a different question.
e34 e38 e39 all should use same offfsets....but as already stated e 39 has aprox 74 mm hubs all others 72.5
Gone but not forgotten
Actually, I think the X5 has the same hub size as the E39.
The reason I asked what you were trying to accomplish is because of the expense and possible problems with trying to enlarge the opening. I figured maybe you had some special wheels that would justify the work involved. Just curious. There are tons of wheels available fairly cheap for the E39 because of the odd hub size so I wondered what was so special about what you were trying to put on yours. Sorry if that offended you somehow.
ah well thats sorts it then, many thanks for your helpOriginally Posted by Paul in NZ
