My '95 540 has the following option:

704 M SPORT SUSPENSION

What was included in this option?

At least in the USA, that's the standard suspension used on the 540i 6-speed. The option number indicates the German factory code but it was included in the standard order deck for the USA. It included:

• firmer shocks
• larger front anti-roll bar (25mm vs. 23mm)
• larger rear anti-roll bar (18mm vs. 15mm)
• front suspension lowered 20mm
• rear suspension lowered 9mm

If anyone has the sway-bar set they've removed from their 540i 6-speed, I'd love to try it out on my lowered 525i.

All those and different seats,my TDS had it as I found out when I tried to replace the top mounts and discovered that they are different, shocks are 13mm at top,seats had sports thigh support but mine wore out.M5 front sway bar but had to put larger bar on rear as per thread advice.

Sorry, meant that in Europe/UK you got M5 seats, 20mm rear bar fitted in ok after polybushing it,thrust arms have the rose joint not rubber bush as well from new ,as there were no records with my car of them ever having been changed and the original owner was anal about paperwork!
