    Hi there. I have a '93 525 that's really been trouble free for the most part. Over the weekend I noticed that when I leave the car (locked) it automatically unlocks itself- either a few seconds later, several minutes later, or even hours later. Weird. I actually "staked it out" to observe this.

    Central locks, standard set up- no alarm or remote locking.

    I could not isolate the fuse for the central locking to at least make it "manual" until I get this fixed. Seems the owner's manual and Bentley's conflict (in terms of what fuse controls what), and the fuses control more than just one thing, of course.

    I went through the Bentley's "checking" procidure, as well as the resynch procedure. Still, after I lock it (even to the "deadbolt" setting) it unlocks on it's own- all power, all locks popping up as though I'd unlocked it with my key.

    The car is possessed.

    Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know of any way I can disable the power locks? Any advice is hugely appreciated, as I'm sure I'll be out one Blaupunkt head unit before this is over.

    Doorlocks are controlled by the GM general module.
    It goes via the RM relay module.
    In case one of the mircroswitches in the doorlock system is not working, there is no feedback to the GM that ALL dors are locked.
    As a safety measure it will open all dors again to show you that something is wrong.
    So remove the door panel on that door
    check the microswitches
    check for broken door brackets
    check for broken wire looms

    Default Thanks! Very helpful. Now, as I won't have time

    to tackle this during the week, is there any way to disable the electrical locks so that I can lock my car this week? I do not have a garage and it's vulnerable on the street.

    Most of the time, it is the wire loom by the trunk hinge shorted... a quick check is fast and easy.

    most of the time its water under the back seat and or shorted wiring under the modules under the back seat when the locks go nutty
    all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
