Jon thats exactly how I approach my car as well with a limited budget thats how its been since ive had it because I attend university, and you know how that is. And i find when I approach things that way I get more innovative, but innovation can only help so far as money tends to be my limiting factor on my car.

That is true but for instance I couldn't afford to get my pistons ceramic/teflon coated so I researched and found the materials myself for $30 ea. Did the work myself, would have cost me like $250. My turbo setup (without engine work and recent add ons) was only ~$2750
