    Default M30 Needs Some Work

Hi guys, my M30 B35 needs a new head gasket. I was thinking while I have the head off that maybe I could get it shaved afew thou to raise the compression ratio. Is there any possibility of this or would there be valve clearance issues? Thanks.

The m30 only runs 9:1 compression, I don't think shaving it is going to cause any kind of issues for you.

get the head off and have it checked for flatness - it may need to be shaved. Don't shave it to shave it. You'll kick yourself later when the head is trash. It's not worth raising the compression like that. If you want to raise compression get pistons.
