where can i get a differential for me 89 535im?

check ebay, theres always differentials on there mattering what gear you need, saw a 4:10 on there yesterday

Ebay is where I found my 3:64LSD and I paid about $300 shipped. I've been told this was a very good price. If you are looking for a regular 3:46LSD it is a straight bolt in. THe 3:64 requires swaping the front flange which the drive shaft bolts to as the 3:64's come out of 7series and have a larger pattern. Not a problem, but know this before you spend an hour or two trying to figure out why it won't work! Also plan on changing the seals and diff fluid (Redline is best).

i was just looking at vines and in the search they ask you if you're looking for a locking or nonlocking differential..is this the same as limited slip and which is which? my old diff wasnt limited slip, so is switching to limited slip as easy as switching to the new diff or is there something else involved?

I am getting a 3.73LS in a couple days as an upgrade.....Will be replacing the rear cover gasket on my stock 3.46LS from my 1989 535iM and putting it up for sale......125k miles and uber quiet. Mobil 1 gear oil with GM LS additive.
