    Default aux fan problem

I have checked the boards and have found nothing to fix my problem.

My problem is that when I turn the a/c on, the aux fan does not come on at slow speed at all. This is probably the cause of my a/c getting warm when i slow down or come to a stop. When I have a guage ( single autozone refill can type ) connected to it and see the LP side go up the fan will kick on to cool it down I also did the check where I short out the terms in the rad temp switch and both low and high speed work.

    TIA

    Default Resistor?

I had this problem and the 0.5 Ohm resistor in series with the fan that gives the low speed was burnt out.

If you disconnect the resistor and check it with a meter you should be able to see if it is still 0.5 Ohm. If not, you can replace with any resistor of the correct value providing it is a large wattage. It gets very hot and will need a nice cooling jacket on it.

    Good luck!
