Neither does mine, however it does on my dads E39 540 - oh the luxury!

I know they do on a lot of european cars, just not sure if this feature dates back to the E34. Suffice to say, my mirror does not tilt.

My e34 does. It depends on where the switch is set for setting the side view mirrors, however. If it's set for the driver's side (up) then the passenger side view will tilt when putting my car in reverse. If it's on the passenger side, then it won't. I may have that backwards, though. I'd thought that my tilt function crapped out the first time I'd flipped the switch to the passenger side and left it there. Of course, it may also be that this function only showed up in the later model e34s as well. I have no idea.
If you ever discover that what you're seeing is a play within a play, just slow down, take a deep breath, and hold on for the ride of your life.

I am pretty confident that you need memory seats to have the reverse-dip. The switch has to be to the driver's side.Originally Posted by Dan in NZ
