been like that for a while, so much for bulk savings
I was in the oil aisle today at our local WalMart and noticed a devious little pricing practice they employ. They had oil in both quart and 5 quart plastic jugs. The 5 quart jug for Penzoil was $10.97. The price for a single quart of Penzoil was $1.88. If you were to buy 5 single quarts, your price would be $9.40, saving you $1.57 over the 5 quart jug. I guess you really do pay for convenience.

all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
I just bought some Mobil1 synthetic from them recently! Aww maaan... I hope that wasn't the case for me...Originally Posted by Robert K
BTW (sorry if hacking)... does anyone know why they would have one synthetic selling for ~22 and another for ~27? Whats the difference? Both were 10W30, and synthetic, and all that junk... only difference was the picture on the bottle, same color scheme though.
One might be the "high mileage" variant. I just made this mistake myself.

marketing ******** just buy the regular mobil 1 that says full synthetic, they claim 15k mile changes on the expensive stuff but that's absurd to let your oil go that long without a supplemental filtration system (like a bypass filter), the factory filter is about done around 6k if your motor runs fairly clean maybe a little longer, some **** all over themselves and the filter is toast at 3-4k
