    cool, i haven't had time to screw with mine since i got it built but i gotta get on it soon as i am probably going to finish my motor today, whats your favorite active idle control, i've done the tip120 pwm stuff but on further reading i am not sure if this is the right way for real idle control, everybody seems to have their own way of running a 3 wire bosch valve

    Yeah i like but have not used the pwm idle board available at www.glensgarage.com it drives the 3 wire "properly" supposedly.

    hmm.... thank you all for the choices given,.....

    Looking around for a M20b25 block.... ( common but hard to find decent blocks)
    at the same time looking for a m20b27 ( hard to find but overengineering ensures good condition)

    SO i am left with a m20b25 plus a midsize turbo or a '88 NA M20b27 with a b25 header...
