    Default Question about installing door side trime - Bentley is a bit vague

    I received door trim, clamps, and grommets for my rear doors. Question: In this image here,



    Parts 5 and 6 - do they just pop into the holes? I don't have to remove the interior door panel? I am curious because I don't completely understand the function of the grommet, if this is the case....

    I popped them in, and they seem secure - but what is the grommet for?

    You're supposed to used them both... A bit of over engineering if you ask me... I didn't used the grommets either, no need to, it's plenty stong without them... I guess it is for a better fit or something...

    Part 5 is only for use on the outer portion of the trim.. whereever there is a hole big enough to accommodate the grommet you place one...

    you probably didn't need one on the trim you replaced
