20 feet will be heaps.Ialthough I have the batery under the rear seat I cant tell you where the cable actually goes
folks, my battery comes located within the (hot) engine compartment. i have looked under the rear seat area and it has all the mounting points for the battery. my questions then:
1. how long a cable to route the positive cable end back to engine bay connections - would ~20 feet be sufficient to cater for any curves/bends etc?
2. best routing path? what is the default routing path for E34s that comes with the battery already under the rear seat? i do see a hole around the ECU compartment area that goes thru the firewall and comes out under the dashboard (right hand side of the car).
3. any other advise (especially for those who have done this mod before)?

Gone but not forgotten
it would help me if someone can send me some pictures of the rear seat mounted battery especially how the +ve and -ve connections are made.

ferret, finally took off the rear seat after getting some help here.
my question is whether it would be possible to relocate the battery here (including holder base plate etc) without routing another +ve cable from the engine bay side.
here's the picture:
(hope i get the access set right and you all can see it)
